A New Generation of Panthers

On October 14, 1992, our eight founding fathers joined together at the New Jersey Institute of Technology to establish Beta Kappa Psi, Black and Latino Fraternity Inc. They established an organization that would contribute to the responsibilities of society and unite men of all creeds and colors.

We are not an anti-government or militant organization; neither were the Lords or The Black Panthers for that matter. We are a fully-insured Brotherhood with a mission to educate everyone about issues that affect minorities directly and indirectly such as police brutality, homelessness, welfare reform, inadequate housing, and proper education. We are here to destroy fallacies about the Latino and African-American ethnicity and teach the truth about our roots and eclectic races. The same reasons The Black Panthers and The Young Lords formed the Rainbow Coalition, our Founding Fathers recognized that Blacks and Latinos throughout history have endured similar struggles and oppressions, including in one period of history enslaved together. They realized that Blacks and Latinos are natural allies and share the same issues in communities that don't look much different in terms of services, economic infrastructure, and how law enforcement agencies react and deal with them.

Though each brother has their own individual goals, we all agree that we need to surface and address the plethora of areas of community need and strive for academic achievement. We are an open-minded, progressive organization, which embraces others with the same unprejudiced purpose and objective. Meet Beta Kappa Psi, Black and Latino Fraternity, Inc. The Brotherhood of Knowledge and Pride.
